Micro Instant Data Centers are on the rise in the data center industry! There are millions of units, creating a buzz- that they will be widely deployed. They are environments from 1 to 100KW. It’s an enclosure, which includes- power, cooling, associated data tools (DCIM), and security.

modular data centerMicro Data Centers are assembled and tested, because of it’s physical size and equipment in the cloud- is used to require racks, which it fits into. Storage, servers, and networking equipment are being integrated with software- for more of an-out-of the box experience. This reduce latency, helping to meet all business needs-and-speeds deployment for competitive edge. In many cases, micro data centers can help shrink cost in facility power, cooling (chillers or DX), to be more user friendly.

These centers are perfect in today’s society. They are ideal for colocation and can sit in the corner of network infrastructures. Their size, features and plug-and-play functions, make them ideal for use in a remote location, even if they are at high risk for a natural disaster.

The data center industry is seeing an increase for these systems. Companies are moving away from complex, that required purchasing, multi-servers, storage, and network devices. These systems are more modern, through the use of the converged system- VCE’s V-Blocks, Cisco’s, VCS, and Del Active Systems. Unlike these new systems, the older ones were self-contained, with its own compute and storage capabilities. Its functions were the use of an interface card (NICs).

Deployment is done by a containerized system. It’s a standard road/shipping container, packed with all the required equipment that just needs plugging into- to become operational for smaller facilities.

Each system provides self-contained heat, management, and insulation. Some systems have extra options- such as Biometric Entry Systems & Fire and Flood entry system(for both Administrative and Physical Systems for equipment replacement).

Aimed at data center systems, integrations (ISI), it provides a secure environment. These systems are also built for expansions- and can be plugged in alongside existing units.

modular data centerA micro data center can also help organize deals with applications and data for high levels of security. Even users with access- the rest of the IT employers, can be excluded from the system. Only those who have access, are permitted without the need for additional security software. Most places are looking at using a co-location facility, extra security, and disaster-proofing that any data center might be worth. These data centers make sense, and are great for all types of environments. The data centers may not work for a large company overhauling big facilities, because they are suitable for SMEs without data centers- with remote branches in a developing, or natural disaster zones.

A Microdata center may include fewer than 4 servers in a single 19-inch rack. There are stand alone rack-level systems- containing all the components of a standard system. The specifications include- Dual Compressor, coolant, controlled temperature that maintains under 30 degrees in the rack with a value of 3000W (Humidity under 80%), power of AC input voltage: 220~240V, power consumption of 1,045W, translation of AMP draw, starting current at 32A, a non-draining water method, a safety system that floats for full drain, high pressure and an alarm buzzer. The server room condition should be high quality with- a machine room, general server(s), room air conditioner, fire control, UPS:2 and partition.

With all these features, you save on labor power. The micro data centers arrive racked, cabled and tested. Deploying the MMDC, immediately saves on facility space and consumption from cooling.
